An art exhibition featuring larger-than-life badge app icons painted on the gallery walls, looming imposingly and enormously over the viewer.
The concept of the exhibit is simple: to call attention, in the most imposing way possible, to the presence of these blaring red warning signs that exist nonchalantly in our everyday lives, and be made aware of the nondescript, uneasy feeling that accompanies them.
Forced to engage with their presence in a different context, surrounded by them, looming over on 15-foot-high gallery walls, how do we perceive these innocuous consequences of digital life differently?
Remind Me Later
The space confronts the viewer, giving pause to reflect on the impact that these daily disruptions, and the pervasiveness of technology, have on our lives. How does their incessant call for immediacy affect us? Our behavior? Our ability to be present? How aware are we of our attention being commodified? Inundated with constant distractions and vague anxiety, how do we live intentionally in tech-driven society?
